Very Rev. Fr. Kazimierz Chwalek, MIC, BA, STB, STL (Cand.)
Provincial Superior, Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception

Fr. Kaz describes this conference as a unique event, offering an integrated vision of care for the whole person, bringing together medicine, biomedical ethics and spirituality.

Fr. Kaz is an ordained priest and theologian, and a recognized authority on The Divine Mercy message and devotion. He is an author and editor of several religious works. He has been an international conference speaker, radio and television guest, theological advisor, writer, editor or contributor to the works related St. Faustina1, The Divine Mercy message and devotion2, and John Paul II3. Currently he is serving his community, the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy Province, as Provincial Superior, and managing the Marian Fathers Capital Campaign to build a new monastery for his community in Stockbridge.

In his vocational biography he writes: “From the time I was seven, I felt a quiet longing to follow Christ as a priest. I had many plans for my life, but this longing was always there. The quiet longing grew into a strong desire, when in 1978, while still in graduate school at the Catholic University of Lublin, the Cardinal I knew and admired became Pope John Paul II. His election, as well as, his talks, writings, and example reawakened in me the desire to follow the Lord and live out my life in His priestly service, modeled after John Paul II. The experience of the Polish Pope’s first pastoral visit to his native land in 1979 solidified my vocation and deepened my understanding of the Church in all its ministries. The following year I entered the Marian Fathers. After completing my philosophical and theological studies I was ordained a priest in 1987. I served the community in several ministerial and administrative positions often concurrently, such as parish ministry, seminary formation, local superior, and assistant Director of the Marian Home of Prayer, Provincial Treasurer, Director of the Association of Marian Helpers and the Director of Development.”
